LEAGUE PLAY
As a partner of the Global Bid Whist Network, the Raleigh Card Sharks Bid Whist, Spades & Pinochle Club of North Carolina will be hosting a 12-week Bid Whist League Play in 2010.
RALEIGH CARD SHARKS LEAGUE PLAY COSTS:
$25 – Membership Fee per person
$60 – Accumulating Pot* Cost ($5 per person times 12 weeks)
$85 – Total due at registration (per person)
*There will be an accumulating pot to be distributed at the end of league play for first, second, and third place winning teams.
You are required to pay whether you are in attendance or not. You are allowed to send a substitute to play in your place. If you can’t provide a substitute, we will assist you in finding a substitute partner or team if you are unable to attend a particular week.
Instant Gratification: For those who can’t wait, there will be a weekly pot for 1st and 2nd place winners. The cost is $5.00 per person. This is voluntary for league members. If you do not wish to be in the “instant” pot, you will be playing for the accumulating pot only. Those people, who play with us and are not members of the league, will be required to pay $5.00 per person to play.
Additional Benefits: Members of the Global Bid Whist Network (GBN) will amass points to qualify for the National Championship. The top ten (10) individuals with the most points accumulated during regional play qualify to receive free entry into the National Championship.
You can become a member of the GBN for an Individual Membership Fee of $50 per year. If you are a member of a GBN Club, such as RALEIGH CARD SHARKS, you automatically qualify for point accumulation towards the Regional and National Championship Tournaments.
Schedule and Style of Play:
¨ The schedule will be finalized soon. Six (6) games will be played on Wednesday evenings and six (6) games will be played on Saturday evenings. (Subject to change.)
¨ Style of play will consist of a 6-card kitty, progressive, 25 hands (5 hands at 5 tables). The top two teams with the most points win the weekly pot (if applicable).
